Synchronizing Siva in the cosmos, in the temple and within us
உணர்ந்தேன் உலகினில் ஒண்பொரு ளானைக்
கொணர்ந்தேன் குவலயம் கோயிலென் நெஞ்சம்
புணர்ந்தேன் புனிதனும் பொய்யல்ல மெய்யே
பணிந்தேன் பகலவன் பாட்டும் ஒலியே.

koṇarntēṉ kuvalayam kōyileṉ neñcam
puṇarntēṉ puṉitaṉum poyyalla meyyē

With the grace of my Lord, I realized the exact nature of Śiva who is the Eternal
Existence and who is present in the Sadāśiva Liṅga and because of such realization
I attained a refined state in which the world, the temple of Śiva and my heart are in
unified oneness. I attained inseparable and non-dual union with Śiva. This is what
really happened to me; it is not exaggeration. With such realization I am always worshipping Him who is like the Sun in dispelling the thick darkness of āṇava mala. Just as the melody cannot be separated from the song, even so Śiva’s existence cannot be separated from myself.
Commentary by Dr. Sabharaththinam Sivachchariyar
I established a refined state within me in which the world, the temple and my heart have been unified into one shrine.
pakalavaṉ – Sun.
Since Lord Śiva drives away the shrouding darkness of āṇava-mala, He is called ‘pakalavaṉ’.
“திமிர மாமன மாமட மடமை யேனிடர் ஆணவ திமிர மேயரி சூரய
திரிலோக தினக ராசிவ காரண பனக பூஷண ஆரண சிவசு தாவரி நாரணன் மருகோனே”

தெய்வச் சுடரங்கி ஞாயிறும் திங்களும்
வையம் புனல்அனல் மாருதம் வானகம்
சைவப் பெரும்பதி தாங்கிய பல்லுயிர்
ஐவர்க் கிடமிடை யாறங்கம் ஆமே.
deyvac cuḍaraṅgi ñāyiṟum tiṅkaḷum
vaiyam puṉalaṉal mārutam vāṉakam
śaivap perumpati tāṅgiya palluyir
aivark kiḍamiḍai yāṟaṅgam āmē.
Commentary by Dr. Sabharaththinam Sivachchariyar:
The self of a person (yajamāṉa) who performs sacrifices making use of the divinely kindled fire, the sun, the moon, earth, water, fire, air and space – in all these eight forms, Śiva appears. As such these are called the adorable sacred places related to Śiva. All the embodied beings whose life is supported by all these eight are benefitted by the systematic worship of Lord Śiva done by the initiated devotees with the accompaniment of five brahma-mantras and six aṅga-mantras.

அன்றிய பாச இருளும்அஞ் ஞானமும்
சென்றிடு ஞானச் சிவப்பிர காசத்தால்
ஒன்றும் இருசுட ராம்அரு ணோதயம்
துன்றிருள் நீங்குதல் போலத் தொலைந்ததே.
aṉṟiya pāśa iruḷumañ ñāṉamum
seṉṟiṭu ñāṉac civappira kāśatthāl
oṉṟum irusuḍa rāmaru ṇōdayam
tuṉṟiruḷ nīṅgutal pōlat tolaintatē.
Commentary by Dr. Sabharaththinam Sivachchariyar:
Just like the thickly formed darkness goes away because of rising of the sun in which the two effulgent aspects, -brightness of Rudra and the hotness of Raudrī – are inseparably present, even so the darkness which is alienated to the innate nature of the soul and which is born of āṇava-mala and the ignorance effected by āṇava are dispelled by the effulgence of Śiva-Sun which is of the nature of pure consciousness.

#ஒன்றும்_இரு_சுடராம்#oṉṟum_iru_suḍarām: The brightness of the billions of Suns and the coolness of the autumnal moon combined together.
śaraccandra-prakāśena vapushā śītaladyutim
dhyāyet simhāsanāsinam umayā sahitam śivam.
May one meditate upon Siva, whose body is brilliant like the shine of the autumnal moon, cool and pleasing and who is seated on the throne with Uma.

May one meditate upon the Rudra,

who has frightening snakes as ornaments and
who has variety of weapons.

அங்கதி ரோன வனை யண்ணலாக் கருத வேண்டா
வெங்கதி ரோன்வ ழியே போவதற் கமைந்து கொண்மின்
அங்கதி ரோன வனை யுடன்வைத்த வாதி மூர்த்தி
செங்கதி ரோன்வ ணங்குந் திருச்சோற்றுத் துறைய னாரே.
aṅkati rōṉa vaṉai yaṇṇalāk karuta vēṇṭā
veṅkati rōṉva ḻiyē pōvataṟ kamaintu koṇmiṉ
aṅkati rōṉa vaṉai yuṭaṉvaitta vāti mūrtti
ceṅkati rōṉva ṇaṅkun tiruccōṟṟut tuṟaiya ṉārē
– Appar thevaaram,
Do not regard the beautiful sun as the God;
prepare yourself for the path of Light (after your death)
to pierce and go through the realm of sun of hot rays
the primordial God who placed the sun-god with him
is the Lord in Tiruccōṟṟuttuṟai where sun of red rays worshipped Civaṉ.
